Helena Ek och Paul Spjuth

The trio Ek, Landgren and Spjuth represents three different approaches to music making, where the meeting point between different musical worlds and the urge to let this meeting change and complete the musical approach form the starting point for this concert programme. An exciting musical combination is the result of this meeting, where curiosity and joy of music making are fundamental driving forces behind this musical experience.

Helena Ek, soprano, is educated at the Gothenburgh School of Music. She has a wide musical repertoire and has primarily become a well known interpreter of medieval and barocque music. She has played together with a broad range of professional musicians such as the Drottningholms, Jakob Lindberg and others. She has performed in many barocque operas (a.o. at the ”Drottningholms Slottsteater” in the opera Euridice by J Peri). She has toured in England, Japan, Switzerland, Germany, Italy and Poland. She has made numerous perfomances for radio and TV. As a memeber of the music group ”Raun” she combines traditional classical musicianship with the perfomance of new material inspired by various cultural elements.

Paul Spjuth , is educated at the Gothenburgh School of Music and has continued his studies a.o. in New York for Phil Smith and in Amsterdam for Peter Masseurs.
Having played in the ”Århus Symfoniorkester”, Denmark, he is now a member of the Gothenburgh Symphony Orchestra (The Swedish National Orchestra) as alternating solo trumpet player. As a chamber musician and freelance musician he works together with several different ensembles.
