Quotes from the cocktail party in the library just before the big family dinner the day most royals returned to Amber.
Benedict is a caring father, isn't
he?
GM: Scenes the GMs do not want to write: Benedict takes
Lilly to the Mall of Amberica to buy a prom dress.
On the definition of luck
Kris: True, let's face it. Jerod's chances of getting
lucky in the same sense Paige means it are about as likely as
finding a dry copy of the Amber Crier in Rebma...
Blake:*LOL*...I suspect Paige has an overly inflated sense of the
importance of screwing family members...in that regard, Jerod
willingly cedes the title of "Luckiest in the Family"
to her...:)
Elder sisters are not that easy to have
around
Cambina's eyes roll mildly from left to right and she has
managed to be where no one but Jerod can see her face. "And
did you *learn* anything useful in the process or am I on my own
in that department again?"
Don't try to match your wits against
Vere's
Aisling smiles gamely, turning away from the bar so she
can keep half an eye on the room and talk to him face-to-face.
"I must admit, I am admirably situated at the moment, for
the topic of interest to me is that which is immediately before
me, namely, yourself." She tilts her head slightly, giving
him her receptive attention.
Vere raises an eyebrow slightly. "Not a topic that I would
have thought overly interesting," he observes, "but
then I may be jaded through over-familiarity with the subject."
He's not that experienced
Bleys: I don't believe I've ever seen a Pattern cracked
quite that way before. Of course, since I've never seen a cracked
Pattern at all, that's not surprising."
Rikibeth comments on a misprint
Olof: Ossian laughs (not very loud) at Random's comment,
and furrows his brow when seeing Llewella's condition. Other that
that, no reaction.
Llewella's, or Vialle's? Yes, they're both Rebman, but it ought
to be pretty easy to tell them apart. Llewella's the one with
bobbed green hair wearing the 1920s-style dress. Vialle's the
blind brunette in the white dress next to the king.
Paige when meeting Corwin for the first
time.
"Uncle, I've longed to thank you for years, but never
had the chance." She kisses Corwin softly on the cheek, and
introduces herself. "I'm Paige."
The GMs should know Lucas by now
Jeremy: Does Lucas take a smoke?
Do you need to ask? That's like asking if Corwin gets laid. Or
Julian uses lame pick-up lines. "Amusing witticism"
indeed.
On titles
Karen: So, it seems that Random has not yet really taken
to being called "Your Majesty."
But what if we started referring to him and Vialle as "Ma
and Pa Jesty?"
Lay of Brennan?
Folly:"Forgive me," she says with an embarrassed
little smile. "Parts of your story just call out for a song,
y'know? But then the song hears the call and comes running before
I'm quite ready for it. Damn things have no party manners at all."
Brennan:"That'd have to a reasonably long song, I think."
On Jerod's choice of women
Random?:"I don't recall Jerod being so interested in
violet women before the war..."
Bleys takes a long drag from his cigarette and replies "perhaps
he knew her when she wasn't so violet."
Missing brothers
Lucas, to Random: "I imagine I could say a good many
things about Eric being dead, but not here. Do you miss your
brother?"
GM Michael:[OOC: "I did, but my bowstring was wet, so I have
an excuse."]
Most guys would probably not agree with
Conner
Paige: "It's good to see more of you, Uncle Caine."
Those of you reading Conner's mind hear, "As Caine has
already seen more of you, I assume he is glad to see less."
On the use of Brand
Cambina : "In a way, it's a shame he is gone. Who is
there now to terrify the family into unity?"
Jerod tries to learn from a master
"Why thank you Uncle." Jerod replies with a
polite smile. "And I've heard so much about you and your
activities...prior to the Regency. I've always wanted to ask you
how you managed to keep so many fingers in so many pies."
